'오스카 상 바로미터' 2020 미국감독조합상(DGA, 2020) "26일 발표"

오스카 상을 기대하며...

봉준호 감독의 '기생충'이 골든 글로브 수상을 시작으로 미국 감독조합상(Directors Guild of America, DGA)과 프로듀서조합상(Producers Guild of America, PGA) 후보에 나란히 오르며 아카데미 전망을 밝혔다.

 

한국시간으로 8일 미국 감독 조합상(Directors Guild of America, DGA) 측은 '기생충'의 봉준호, '1917'의 샘 멘데스, ‘아이리시맨’의 마틴 스코세이지, ‘원스 어폰 어 타임 인 할리우드’의 쿠엔틴 타란티노, ‘조조 래빗’의 타이카 와이티티 감독이 올해의 감독상 후보(영화 부문)로 올랐다”고 발표했다.

 

'기생충'은 같은 날 발표된 미국프로듀서조합(Producers Guild of America, PGA) 후보에도 당당히 이름을 올렸다. 10편이 선정된 프로듀서조합상 후보에는 '1917', '포드 v 페라리', '아이리쉬맨', '조조래빗', '조커', '나이브스 아웃', '작은 아씨들', '결혼 이야기', '원스 어폰 어 타임 인 할리우드' 등이 포함됐다.

지난 18일(현지 시간) 열린 제31회 미국프로듀서조합상 시상식에서 '1917'(샘 멘데스·피파 해리스·제인 앤 텡그렌·칼럼 맥두걸)은 영화 부문 '작품상'을 받았다.

 

봉준호 감독의 '기생충'은 이밖에도 작가조합(WGA), 미국배우조합(SAG)의 후보에도 오르며 4대 조합상 후보를 석권, 기대감을 높였다. 앞서 결과가 발표된 골든글로브나 각종 비평가협회상과는 달리 이 4개 조합은 할리우드 업계를 대표하는 단체이자, 직접 아카데미에서 투표권을 행사하는 회원들의 단체이다. 미국 감독 조합상(Directors Guild of America, DGA)은 할리우드 내 직능조합상 중 배우조합상, 프로듀서조합상과 함께 오스카 수상작을 예측하는 바로미터로 꼽히며(출범 이래 30년에 걸쳐 21차례나 아카데미 작품상과 동일한 작품에 주어졌다) 특히 장편영화 감독상은 오스카 감독상의 가장 유력한 후보로 꼽힌다. 미국 감독 조합상(Directors Guild of America, DGA)은 2020년 1월 26일(일요일) 미국 캘리포니아 로스앤젤레스 The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles에서 저드 애퍼타우(Judd Apatow)의 사회로 진행된다.

 

골든글로브에서 한국영화 최초 외국어영화상을 수상한 '기생충'의 남은 아카데미 레이스에 더 관심이 쏠린다.

제 92회 아카데미 시상식은 오는 2월 9일 열린다.

스콜세이지 감독은 12번째 DGA상 후보에 올랐다. 2006년 디파티드(The Departed)로 장편영화 우수 감독상을 수상했으며, 택시 운전사(Taxi Driver, 1976), 레이징 불(Raging Bull, 1980), 좋은친구들(Goodfellas, 1990), 순수의 시대(The Age of Innocence, 1993), 갱스 오브 뉴욕(Gangs of New York, 2002), 에비에이터(The Aviator, 2004), 휴고(Hugo, 2011), 더 울프 오브 월 스트리트(The Wolf of Wall Street, 2013)의 부문에도 후보에 올랐다. 스콜세이지 감독은 또한 '보드워크 엠파이어(Boardwalk Empire)' 로 드라마틱 텔레비전에서 뛰어난 감독 업적으로 2010년 DGA 상을 수상했으며 '조지 해리슨: 물질 세계에서의 삶(George Harrison: Living in the Material World, 2011)'의 다큐멘터리에서 뛰어난 감독 업적으로 지명되었다. 그는 1999년 DGA 명예상과 2003년 장편 영화로 DGA 평생 공로상을 수상했다.
